HAPPY MELBOURNE CUP DAY EVERYBODY!

The down side to being in the tertiary sector is that I don't get a public holiday today. The up side is that:
A) everything here is really quiet (all the sensible people are either at the races watching the horsies, or being sociable and taking the opportunity for a party)
B) We have a TV, and we're not afraid to watch it! Also, there's a sweepstakes going on. \o/
C) My boss is kind of awesome and brought champagne in to share- ostensibly it was to congratulate Steve on a recent job well done, and the fact it happens to be cup day...well, it's just good timing. Nevertheless, champagne over lunch at work on cup day makes working on cup day seem not so bad...
D) My boss is kind of awesome and suggested that next year we all take the day off and go to the races together! Either today or on Oakes Day.

Yeah, I think I should stock up on frying pans. They really would come in handy for such things as getting coworker to shut the hell up.
