Just because you know something's good for you doesn't make it any easier to do. Time to employ new tactics- turn the piece of repertoire I have been steadfastly avoiding all year into an honourary study. Now I have no choice but to work on it- I'll be drilled on it next lesson. Never underestimate a good teacher. They are sneaky!
It's good for me in the same way that brussels sprouts are good for me. (OK, maybe that's not a fair comparison, because there is no force on earth that can compel me to eat them, save perhaps an apocalypse that wipes out all food sources except the aforementioned loathed vegetable.) I can get some level of satisfaction out of the piece, but it really is uninspiring until one can play it properly, but as I can't play it properly, it remains uninspiring so I have no incentive to practise it- it's a vicious circle, I'm afraid.
Peter Garrett should be disposed of ASAP, for the good of our country and indeed the health of the world. He is an evil man.
