Apr. 8th, 2009 11:02 amThings what are making me a happy little Vegemite:
A homeless man who was obviously destitute and quite possibly drunk at 8 o’clock in the morning sang “Pretty Woman” to me as I walked past him on my way to work today. It made me smile, at the same time as it made me sad. If it had been anybody with any more of a glimmer of hope in life, I would have found it creepy, but it was from somebody so clearly down on his luck, who had no vested interest in chatting me up, and who, despite all else, still managed to be cheerful, that made it special.
I have organised last-minute tickets to see Mindless Self Indulgence tonight, with
qazoki & co. IT’LL BE AWESOME! Also also also, the support act is The Red Paintings – a while ago you might remember me saying that I got roped into painting half-naked human canvasses for a band during their performance? (I blame it all on
qazoki - it was a bizarre and yet cathartic experience.) Well, that’s the band. So.
All I have to do now is survive today. *encourages self*
